Dear Visitor,
Thank you for your interest in our company. SOURCEnterprises, Inc. is currently managed and operated by my husband and myself. We started this company in 2006 upon our invention of Bobble Ball, the egg shaped billiard ball. The most common question that we are asked is, "How did you come up with this idea?" It all started when some friends brought over the outdoor game of Bocce Ball and taught us how to play. We really enjoyed the game, and after our company left, I told my husband that we should be able to play the same game on a smaller scale by using our pool table. However, we encountered a problem. Using all spherical balls on such a small surface did not work because when the balls would contact the "palina" ball (now known as Bobble Ball), it would roll too far away thereby making it very difficult to play strategically. We therefore began experimenting with various sizes and shapes of balls in order to find one which performed well on the table. After much experimenting, we found that the size and shape of Bobble Ball interacted best with regulation billiard balls which is important from a physics standpoint. The shape of Bobble Ball allows for unpredictability and also for Bobble Ball to stay somewhat close to its initial position allowing for fun and strategic playing. In essence then, our "indoor" Bobble Ball game is derived from the "outdoor" game of Bocce Ball similarly to how the "indoor" game of billiards was derived from the "outdoor" game of croquet.
After the development of Bobble Ball, we began developing the rules to the various games which may be played with Bobble Ball. We found that just being able to roll directly toward Bobble Ball was too easy after a few games so that we incorporated the rule that players must bank their ball against a cushioned rail which adds fun and challenge to the games. We have played the game in a variety of settings including private homes, league environments, community and resort activity centers, corporate events, and tournaments. The game is also enjoyed by people of all ages. Our leagues and corporate events typically have participants ranging in age from 9 years old to 70+ years old. The concept of Bobble Ball games is new so that our start up has been slow, but steady.
 Because we found that the game appealed to both pool players and non pool players, we saw the need to develop a Bobble Ball table in order to get the game out where the non pool players were so they would try it (Do you know how difficult it is to get a non pool player to step up to a pool table?) With our new Bobble Ball table, we are able to reach out to more potential players many of whom now want to learn how to play pool!
In addition to Bobble Ball products, we also are beginning to provide greeting cards. For many years, we have made greeting cards for personal use, however, due to artwork copyright issues, we never pursued production of our cards for public distribution. Thanks to artist James Scrivano's willingness to allow use of his paintings in our cards, we are able to develop a new line of cards which are proving to be unique and very encouraging to their recipients. The painting on the front cover of each card is associated with a scriptural truth about God in a brief paragraph found within the card. Since James Scrivano has a vast portfolio of art from his many years of being a professional artist, we have many new greeting cards just waiting to be written and designed. For more than twenty years, we have also been involved in the management of a wood carving business which supplies primarily to the furniture and pool table industry. Because of this relationship, we are able to bring a variety of wood carved animals and furniture components to customers who might have a need for these products.
Over the past year, we have seen a growth in players who consider themselves Bobble Ball addicts. One of the frequent statements that we hear is, "You need to have a Bobble Ball T-shirt." When you speak, we listen! Hence, our new DiRiginal T-shirt collection which will be available for viewing soon. In addition, we also have other types of T-shirts which were developed as a result of trying to help our church youth group raise money to go to summer camp. Again, with the positive feedback that we received, we figured we might as well add these into our line of products too. We will know if you like anything when our inventory begins to go down!
